Friday, two residents of Palette Lake encountered a bear on their property.  In the
first encounter the bear was found to be in the resident's garage.  The bear was scared
off by the resident.  In the second case the bear, believed to be the same one, appeared
as the residents were having lunch on their deck.  They retreated to their cottage and
attempted to scare the bear from within but to no avail.  They then retreated to their
vehicle and before leaving, observed the bear lay down on their deck as if it were a dog.
