Update: January 30th. Things are back on track again and the tower is taking shape. They use a modified TV tower as a crane to lift the tower sections into place. I refuse to say the new projected operation date because every time I do, something happens to cause further delays!

Frustrating weather delays put this project even further behind, but erection of the tower at Site 1 has finally commenced! The sound of a rock drill echoed over the lake this afternoon as the crew bored a pattern of holes several feet into the bedrock for the anchor bolts. Actually, the weather wasn't really done messing with timetables -- despite the -10° temperature, there was a freezing mist in the air, which played havoc with the air-powered drill. 

Several gallons of methyl hydrate later, the holes were finally ready. If the weather holds, the tower should be up by the weekend.
